What did you do with your car today?

Drove it to work. Shows a Sion TC whats up.

 

Changed the oil. Car is up on jack stands, waiting to get a new set of drum brake hardware. The lower return spring in the right rear snapped, so I had shoes dragging. Sounds an awful lot like bad wheel bearings...

 

New brake hardware, brake shoes, and wheel bearings. Also got tabs so I'm legal. Tada!

Realized I need to get some winter tires asap Snow scares me

 

Got New car transferred over, New plates, New windshield, and a spare key and fob made for the Subaru STI! The Focus got a new right control arm, new custom thermostat housing, and drove her up to storage to get started on the engine tear down, so I can up the boost, I will be building the motor with pistons, rods and cams this winter!

On the focus, is the getrag able to hold the boost?

 

Yes theTransmission can handle it. I rebuilt most of the getrag transmission (which they say you can't do) and installed a limited slip also. From what the Focus tunner guy (Fernando) told me the transmission is the least of the worries, so that is why I need to do the pistons before anymore boost can be added.

 

Right on. I know there was a lot of debate when they first came out if the getrag could handle more than 200hp as a daily driver. But, if it's been rebuilt and an LSD, you should be fine.

Bought a blazer on Sunday. Painted it yesterday. And I'm buying a Ranger right now! Truck Yeah!

All the boost is getting stored in the garage for the winter. Probably this week now. So I'll be rocking one of the trucks for the winter.

 

Almost got the Evo back on the road today...

Then the turbo feed bolt twisted off when I went to torque it. Oh well, can't expect a 9-year-old banjo bolt that's been torqued 7 or 8 times over its life to last forever. The broken bit came right out and I'll be picking up another tomorrow morning. Then it's simply burping the cooling system and checking for oil leaks left!
