I've been trying to find an owner recommended oil for my father's NC Miata, and I've had little luck. Factory is listed as a 5w20 and is likely Mobil1, but I'm not a fan and was wondering if there was any other brand else anyone's heard recommended. I'd personally run a standard Amsoil but I know the cost won't thrill him.
We have always run Mobile1 in our Miata. The last oil change the miata got was Amsoil since it was highly recommended by the guys at MAP for their turbo charged cars, but it is the first time the Miata has ever had a tick. The subaru is also not liking Amsoil as well as Mobile1. So we probably wont use it again. 5w20 sounds correct for the NC.
