    Difficulty: 5 / 10

    Time Required: 40-60 Min

    Install:
This is the install of the CP-E standback with Plug and Play Harness. This tutorial was written exclusively for and use by Custom Performance Engineering | www.cp-e.com. You can get this amazing product here and the Plug and Play Harness here.

This tutorial will show you everything you need to do to install the StandBack2 with Plug and Play Harness. Below here we have the Plug and Play Harness. As a precautionary measure I have taped up the wires so no moisture can get down into the ECU.

Here you can see push the clip in to release the locking bracket.

This is the StandBack bypass. You connect this to the end of the bypass if you need to remove your StandBack to pull logs, upload tunes etc and plan to drive the car without it.

This is the hardest part of the install, well at least the part that will make you do the most work. This wire is used to switch between maps and the LED displays which map you are using.
To start the install of this wire first need to run it though the firewall into the engine bay. Behind the steering wheel you will see the hood release. The grommet just pulls out and you can feed your wire though. Feed enough of it through to the other side so you can pull it out the other side and not have to remove the battery.

Since I am putting the switch and LED in a blank slot where the DSC button is I need to remove the lower portion of the dash. This is fairly easy. 1 Screw holds it in place however, that screw is blocked by the hood release. To remove the hood release pull the release to get access to the tab. Then use a small flat head screwdriver and “pry” the tab down while pulling the release towards you and it will come right off giving you access to the screw.

Once the screw is removed pull down on the lower dash to remove it. You may need to remove the driver’s kick panel if you need more room to work with.

This is where the drill is needed and is very important that you are careful. Check before you drill that there are no wires behind the plastic. It is necessary to drill because the wire is short plus it will also make the install cleaner.

Next pull out your blank slot and drill the holes so you can install the switch and LED. Once drilled pop it apart so you can properly mount everything and put back together. You can also reassemble your dash now.

Installing your Plug and Play Harness:
Start by removing the Negative (-) terminal from the battery. Once done un clip the wires from the ECU then plug into the harness first, then plug the harness into the ECU. Remember there is a push clip in the center then pull the lock straight up.

Now once you have a location for your StandBack you need to install the pins into the harness from the switch and LED. Follow the directions on the sheet but from top to bottom in the 3 holes as shown will be White | Red | Black the Green wire you can ground anywhere. Once these are in they will not be coming back out so make sure you have run the wires the way you want first.
Now we need to make sure the harness is working properly before installing the StandBack. So install the Loopback on the end as shown making sure to connect the gray wire as well. If you do not connect this wire you will get ONLY 10lbs of boost as that is the spring setting of the waste gate.

Re-Connect your battery and go for a short trip, Make sure the car gets to operating temperature and there are no CEL’s. If none it’s time to install the StandBack. For Safety reasons disconnect the battery once again Negative (-) and unplug the loopback and plug into the StandBack. Once plugged in mount it, start the car and drive.

Now you can tune using the USB Cable and Software. The Car does NOT have to be on to change the Maps or access the StandBack.
