Hey, just wanted to check in and see what is going on. I hear your meets are @ Sonic on Wed. nights. I will probably stop in some time when work isn't demanding all of my attention.

My name is Andy, and I am somewhat of an Autobody/Paint expert, I have recently been trying my hand at some composite work.

    I have two projects....

1st is a '06 Mz3 hatch, it's not fast, or ever will be fast, but I get to put my custom touch on it, and it is a reliable car that gets me from place to place. Currently the car is in pieces, trying to get it painted in the next month so I can get it on the road again.

Future project is a '89 Mazda b2200 that is going to be sitting until I get into a house with a bigger garage, this vehicle will end up needing a lot of work, due to MN snow and salt, it is need of some rust repair, and some dents cleaned up. The power plant, is.....well 80 some stock HP so I have a 5.0l HO from a '89 Mustang GT and a t-5 that I will be wanting to swap in.

I have tons of pics of the 3, I will look for some that best sum up what I have gotten myself into and post later

    `Andy

    Welcome!

And good god have you done a lot and I haven't even gone through all 24 pages on M3F yet :) I like seeing the evolving colors and then you transitioning into actually working with real CF. You are doing lots of stuff I would love to do/learn to my own car, but not having the time yet to even try (and I'm a a bit scare of wrecking things) :p

I have to say good work! Are you planning on painting the exterior yourself? Or taking it somewhere?

I never though of killing of the reflectors at what not. But I do like the look of them completely gone :)

Yeah, I plan on painting it myself, spent the weekend starting to strip the car down....spoiler, rocker moldings, door handles, etc. Also going to be gutting the interior and spraying the whole thing with sound deadener, then laying wires and some other things before putting the interior back together.

Kind of jealous. I always wanted to play with paint. Might get a chance with an FC we picked up. I'm sure I'll have questions for you :)
