What did you do with your car today?

No biggie Montana. I already found a replacement rear axle for $100. I just need to spend an afternoon replacing it and then I'm on the road again.

Thinking about it, that was the only "old" part left on that truck. Everything else has been replaced or was guaranteed to work. The rear end wasin't inspected and wasn't known to be good, we just assumed. I put new gear lube in it and went with it and I was wrong.

Oh well, the Dodge will be on the road before all the snow is gone.

 

Better news yet. I found an S-10 axle for FREE!

My truck will be on the road again in 2 weeks.

Brought my car out of storage today.

 

Picked up my car Thursday night.

180-190 break-in miles so far. Target is the 500km (310 mi) done by the end of Sunday, and it would appear I'm right on track. Near 300 by the end of tonight is looking pretty certain, which means a full shakedown on Sunday night is guaranteed.

I'm also weirdly getting well over 20mpg, which makes no sense, it's still cold and I the car runs a good point richer in the winter on E70. If I were hovering around 20 I could see it as normal (unnaturally high, but normal), but I'm getting like 22-23 which is absurd.
