You can now buy your very own DeltaWing

DeltaWing Racing Cars has announced that three DeltaWing coupes are for sale to customers who intend to compete in the 2014 United SportsCar Racing series, a new US-based racing series that combines the American Le Mans Series and Rolex Sports Car Series. Élan Motorsports Technologies will build the pointy racing coupes, which will debut on September 19 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for an ALMS race.

A price for the innovative race car is not listed on DeltaWing Racing Cars' website, but the company has asked interested teams to reach out to Élan Motorsports Technologies.

It's been over three years since the DeltaWing was introduced to the racing world as a potential IndyCar replacement (IndyCar passed it up), and after it raced with an open cockpit in 2012 in the American Le Mans Series as a Nissan, most of its sponsors left - including Nissan. It charged forward in 2013 as the DeltaWing, taking part in a handful of races including the season-opening 12 Hours of Sebring.
